Wind speed to increase across the island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - According to the latest weather forecast issued by the MET Department,  winds are expected to strengthen to some extent over the island and in the surrounding sea areas over the next few days (particularly from 11th to 13th). Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces after 2.00p.m. A few showers can be expected in the Eastern coastal areas in the morning. MET Department noted that there is a possibility of strong winds during thundershowers.
