Public requested to hoist National flags from the 01st of Feb

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The government has made a special request from the general public to hoist the National flag for a week starting from the 01st of February. The Government information department requests that the flag be hoisted in all houses, shops and business places, private and state sector institutions and vehicles in line with the 71st Independence celebrations. The 71st Independence celebrations graced by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe are due to be held in Galle Face. Rehearsals for the Independence Day celebrations are due to begin from the 31st of January. The Police said that a special traffic plan will be in effect along the roads surrounding Galle Face within those days.
