Lanka SATHOSA employee released on bail

Colombo (News1st): The Deputy General Manager of the Sales Division of Lanka Sathosa was released on surety bail of Rs. 100,000 by Fort Additional Magistrate Saliya Channa Abeyratne. The Colombo Fraud Investigations Divison arrested the suspect yesterday (January 14) for producing false educational certificates for employment at Sathosa. The Additional Magistrate cautioned the suspect to appear in court on the 22nd of January. The suspect had claimed he was a graduate of the University of Jayawardenhapura for employment as Deputy General Manager and a Senior Government Officer said the documentation produced by him proved to be fabricated. The Government Officer went on to note that the several high ranking officials at Sathosa have been interdicted as they too had produced fabricated documentation.
