30 year old arrested for extortion

COLOMBO (News 1st) -
A 30-year-old has
been arrested
from Biyanwila, Kadawatha for extortion.
The suspect had contacted a residence in Kiribathgoda through various numbers demanding for a ransom of Rs. 3 million. The police further said that the suspect had issued death threats for both the resident and his relatives if the ransom was not paid.
He is due to be produced before the Mahara Magistrates court today (December 31).
