"Agreement between RW and R. Sampanthan, fake" - Marikkar

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The support extended by the TNA to appoint Ranil Wickremesinghe as the prime minister, has led to several controversial situations. The UNP lodged a police complaint today, over a fake agreement between Ranil Wickremesinghe and R. Sampanthan circulating on social media. Speaking to the media, UNP MP S.M. Marikkar said that both Ranil Wickremesinghe and R. Sampanthan had denied having such an agreement and had stated that the letter was fake. Marikkar continued to say that the opposition leader was even willing to make a statement over the non-existence of the fake agreement. He added that a person named Indrajith Kondadeniya is responsible for sharing this fake agreement on social media and that he (S. M. Marikkar) has already submitted a written document regarding the matter to the police.
