Colombo (News 1st) - UPFA MP Susil Premajayantha states that the UNP tried to bring an amendment to the constitution on the 7th of November and that the UPFA opposed it.
He then stated that in the meantime TNA MP Sumanthiran managed to translate this document and submit it to the legislative council on the 7th morning.
MP Susil Premajayantha stated that all this was done because the UNP needed to show the western countries that the amendments to the constitution were complete. He then stated that Sumanthiran is appointed as the head of all the committees so that he can take lead on all the proposals.
Premajayantha explained that it is Sumanthiran who leads the court cases, during the approval of two no-confidence motions, it is he who proposed to suspend standing orders in Parliament before one of the No confidence motion votes. He went on to state that it is Sumanthiran, on behalf of the TNA who communicated through a letter that they will extend their support to Ranil Wickremesinghe.
