Colombo (News1st): JVP MP Vijitha Herath speaking at the parliament today (December 05) noted that the President had stated that he has no issues with the no-confidence motion. He added that the President has asked them to remove the first part and to bring in the second one. "The first part of the motion states that the gazette notification to remove the PM is illegal, while the second part state that the house has no confidence in Mahinda Rajapaksa and his cabinet, " said MP Herath. MP Herath said that several UNP MPs agreed to this and therefore he questioned how they brought in a no-confidence motion saying the first paragraph of the proposal presented on the 14th of November 2018 has been removed. He noted that the UNP agreed to the President's request and now they are trying to present it again. "There is no need for that, it has been decided by the Court of Appeal and you have already agreed that this motion of no confidence is legal," said MP Herath. He added that another no-confidence motion is being brought forward against Mahinda Rajapaksa by the UNP. "Mahinda Rajapksa should realise at least now, he has been rendered helpless after being given the Prime Ministership." -  MP Vijitha Herath
