Islandwide protests against political unrest

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Against the backdrop of the current political unrest, a number of protests were held around the country. A Satyagraha was held with the participation of a number of civil organizations before the Viharamahadevi Park. Both MP Hirunika Premachandra and Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake signed a public petition at the protest. The Artists' Association to protect the Peoples' power held a pooja last evening, (December 04) to have an election as soon as possible. A vehicle parade left the Abhayaramaya in Narahenpita and arrived at the Seenigama Devalaya late yesterday (December 04) where the group had demanded for elections.
