Colombo (News 1st) - Former Secretary of Defense Gotabaya Rajapaksa was permitted to travel overseas from 14 December to 14 January by the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar today (November 09).
The request was made by President's Counsel Romesh De Silva who appeared on behalf of Goatabaya Rajapaksa.
Court ordered the release of Gotabaya Rajapaksa's impounded passport and ordered that the Controller General of the Department of immigration and emigration be notified to temporarily lift the travel ban imposed upon the former Defense Secretary.
The Attorney General filed a case against the Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and 06 others at the Special three-justice High Court over the misuse of Rs. 33.9 Million worth public funds from the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation under the guise of the constructing of the D.A. Rajapakse Museum and Memorial.
The case will be taken up again on the 27 November 2018.
