Colombo (News1st): The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) will be carrying out raids in search of traders selling sugar above the maximum retail price introduced from midnight yesterday (October 12).
The CAA imposed maximum retail prices for non-packeted and packeted white sugar as Rs. 100 and Rs. 105 respectively per kilogram.
Authorities noted that importers cannot sell sugar at a price above Rs. 92. Consumers were requested to immediately inform the CAA of traders who violate the MRP.
