Northern province CM Vigneswaran appears before Court of Appeal

Colombo (News 1st) - Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran and Northern Province Ministers Ananthi Sasitharan and P. Sivanesan were warned by the Court of Appeal to appear before court again on 18th September. The trio appeared before court today (September 07) in connection to contempt of court charges that were brought against them for not complying with an order issued by the Court of Appeal in June this year. On the 29th of June, the COA issues an interim injunction restraining Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran from removing Provincial Minister of Transport and Fisheries, B. Denishwaran from his post, and this ordered was extended to 09th October.
