Met Department issues weather warning

Colombo (News1st) - The met department has issued a weather warning about strong winds and rough seas. The department warns that wind speed in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo as well as Galle and Hambantota, and the sea area extending from Trincomalee to Batticaloa will be 40-50 kmph. These sea areas will be rough at times as the wind speed could increase up to 60-70 kmph. Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant when setting out to sea. The warning has been issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Met. Department.
