Colombo (News 1st) - The Department of Examinations has filed a complaint against a private website for allegedly publishing a false G.C.E Advanced Level(A/L) Examinations Timetable.
Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath B. Poojitha said an investigation will be conducted at the Departmental level as well.
Part I of the Sinhala Examination paper of the G.C.E A/L Examination was held from 8.30AM to 11.40AM last Saturday(August 11). However, many candidates who had accessed the timetable via the Internet had assumed that the examination was scheduled to be held from 12.30PM to 03.40PM on the 11th August.
Therein, many students missed Part I of the Sinhala Examination paper. The Commissioner General of Examinations said special attention will be paid to students who faced injustice due to this.
He added that the timetable available on the Department's official website was accurate adding that, this situation would not have resulted in the students had arrived for the Examination in accordance with the copy of the A/L Exam Time Table given to them.
