It's up to the people to save the country : Vidyaratne

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Speaking at a public meeting in Badulla yesterday, JVP Uva provincial councillor Samantha Vidyaratne expressed the following views about the conduct of the previous government and the present government. Vidyaratne stated that the political culture in the country is such that all are greedy for power and families to get together and rob the country and that Wickremesinghe and the tie and coat gang came with the promise to clean up the previous politics, promised to instil good governance, but that there is no fruitful outcome. He further added that they started collecting what they couldn't before and for that purpose breaking into small banks weren't sufficient and that therefore they had targeted the central bank. "A president who sold himself for 7.6 billion dollars to the China harbour was born during the Rajapaksa regime. Now, what does Mahinda Rajapakse say? he says the paper is wrong. Similarly, when the Central Bank was cleaned by Aloysius and Arjun Mahendran what did Sujeewa Senasinghe, Dayasiri and the gang say? they said the Cope Committee report was wrong, So it's up to the people to save the country" said Vidyaratne.
