Shiran Basik’s Father Remanded Until September 25 In Illegal Assets Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st): Abdul Razak Mohamed Basik, the father of detained drug kingpin Shiran Basik, has been remanded until September 25.

He was remanded after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court No. 2.

The suspect was arrested yesterday by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division of the Police Central Crime Investigation Bureau.

Razak is accused of purchasing a house worth Rs. 30 million in an apartment complex in Gampaha.

He had been summoned to the Illegal Assets Investigation Division to obtain information on the source of funds used to purchase the property.
