Shiran Basik to Be Detained and Questioned for 72 Days

COLOMBO (News 1st);Permission has been obtained to detain and question large-scale drug trafficker, Shiran Basik for 72 days.

Investigations regarding the suspect are being conducted by The Colombo Central Crimes Investigation Bureau (CCIB) 

Shiran Basik, who had fled the country and was hiding in Dubai, was arrested and deported to Sri Lanka last night. 

48-year-old Shiran Basik is a resident of the Dehiwala area.

Police said investigations are underway to determine whether he was involved in the recent prison clashes. 

Police also stated that information has been uncovered linking him to the 2012 Welikada Prison riot.
