Tri-Forces Teams on Standby for Disaster Response in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Defence says tri-forces teams have been placed on standby for disaster response operations in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The deployment has been coordinated with the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) and the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO).

Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara said special attention has been given to low-lying and landslide-prone areas, particularly Ulapane, Gampola, Nawalapitiya, and Peradeniya.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution amid the prevailing weather conditions.
