COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has decided to refer 23 cases involving eight state institutions to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for investigation.
COPE Chairman, MP Dr. Nishantha Samaraweera, said the complaints will be forwarded to the Commission through Parliament today.
The institutions include the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital, the Land Reforms Commission, Sabaragamuwa University, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Lanka Sathosa, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, and the National Savings Bank.
