‘Tax Power 2026’ National Tax Week to Begin on July 6

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Presidential Secretariat says the ‘Tax Power 2026’ or Badhu Shakthi, the National Tax Week will commence on the July 6.

Presidential Secretariat Revenue Administration and Modernisation Unit Director Asitha Munasinghe, said the programme will continue until July 15.

The initiative is aimed at raising awareness and promoting compliance with the country's tax system.

According to Munasinghe, as a result of the Tax Reforms following the economic crisis, Tax Rates especially the VAT rates remain high and it is aimed to find loopholes and address any descrepencies with Tax Collection by informing the public.
