No Bus Fare Revision Today, Says NTC

COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Transport Commission (NTC) states that there will be no bus fare increase today.

Meanwhile, the President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association, Gemunu Wijeratne, mentioned that bus trade union representatives have been summoned to the National Transport Commission today for a discussion.

He stated that they would be briefed on the percentages regarding bus fare revisions during that meeting.

The annual bus fare revision is scheduled for July 1st.

However, the National Transport Commission announced yesterday that, following the reduction in fuel prices, a new bus fare revision proposal will be submitted to the Cabinet for approval.

Accordingly, the new bus fares are expected to be announced, taking the fuel price revision into account.
