Strong Winds Damage 42 Houses In Moneragala

COLOMBO (News 1st): Forty-two houses have been damaged due to strong winds that affected the Moneragala district yesterday evening.

The Disaster Management Centre stated that 17 houses across two Grama Niladhari divisions in the Moneragala Divisional Secretariat division sustained partial damage.

Another house has been completely damaged.

Meanwhile, 24 houses across two Grama Niladhari divisions in the Siyambalanduwa Divisional Secretariat division have suffered partial damage.

The Moneragala District Disaster Management Centre also stated that a 35-year-old woman was injured in the event.

She is currently receiving treatment at the Moneragala Hospital.
