Two Arrested in Ragama for Stealing Telecommunication Cables

COLOMBO (News 1st) – Two suspects have been arrested in Ragama for allegedly stealing cables from telecommunication transmission towers.

Police said 17g and 700mg of 'Ice' or crystal methamphetamine were also seized from the suspects' possession.

Investigations have revealed that the suspects had stolen cables worth approximately Rs. 922,750.

The two suspects, aged 27 and 34 are residents of Rathupaswala and Kadawatha.

Following interrogations, police also recovered a stock of stolen cables based on information provided by the suspects.

Further investigations are underway.
