Retired Major General Suresh Salley, admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo on medical advice

COLOMBO (News 1st) – Former Director of the State Intelligence Service, retired Major General Suresh Salley, who is currently being detained and questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo on medical advice.

He was admitted following his decision to launch a fast-unto-death while in CID custody.

According to family members, Salley began the protest demanding several measures, including the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

Retired Major General Suresh Salley, the former head of Sri Lanka’s State Intelligence Service, was arrested by the CID on February 25 in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
