Dengue Control Drive Begins in 14 High-Risk Districts

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Dengue Control Unit announced that a special dengue control program will be implemented over the next three days, tomorrow (08), the day after (09), and the 10th of June. 

Community Physician Specialist Dr. Prashila Samaraweera stated that 14 high-risk districts and 74 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions have been identified so far.

Due to the rapid spread of dengue, the National Dengue Control Unit has instructed officials to take necessary legal action against premises where mosquito breeding sites are found as a result of negligence.

Dr. Samaraweera noted Red Notices will be issued to such locations.

36,168 total number of Dengue patients have been reported so far this year.
