Tour Guide Arrested for Fraud in Benthara

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect was arrested from Benthara in connection with a financial fraud case. 

Police said that officers from the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspect following a complaint regarding the alleged fraud of € 91,860.

The suspect had defrauded a German national of money invested in a tourism business.

The 46-year-old suspect is a tour guide residing in Benthara.
