IUSF Remains at Malwana Property Allegedly Linked to Basil Rajapaksa for Third Consecutive Day

COLOMBO (News 1st);The Inter-University Students' Federation (IUSF) continues to remain at the Malwana residence allegedly linked to former Minister Basil Rajapaksa for the third consecutive day today.

A group representing the IUSF entered the Malwana residence on May 14, demanding that property stolen from public tax money be returned to public ownership.

They entered the property, allegedly linked to former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, which was later reported to have no identified owner, and have stayed there since May 14.

They continue to demand that the property allegedly acquired using public funds be returned to the people.

They emphasized that such properties should be utilized to address shortages in university infrastructure, including accommodation, faculty complexes, and student hostels.

The Inter-University Students' Federation also said that discussions held regarding this matter at the Ministry of Education in Isurupaya, Battaramulla, were not successful.
