Police Arrest Two Over Savage Attack In Ambalantota

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man who was attacked with a sharp weapon inside a house in the Mamadala area of Ambalantota.

Police said the suspects, who are residents of the same area, are scheduled to be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The incident occurred on Sunday (10) night, when the victim was assaulted with a sharp weapon and had his throat slit inside a residence in Mamadala.

The deceased has been identified as a 34-year-old resident of the area.

Preliminary investigations have indicated that the killing was carried out as an act of revenge linked to a previous triple murder, according to police.

Following the attack, the perpetrators had allegedly placed the severed head of the victim on a structure located at a junction in Mamadala.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
