Treasury Secretary to Appear Before COPF

COLOMBO (News 1st); Treasury Secretary Harshana Suriyapperuma is scheduled to appear before the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) today to provide explanations regarding an incident involving the misplacement of US$2.5 million in government funds.

According to a notification issued by the Committee on Public Finance, the Treasury Secretary, along with a group of senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, will appear before the committee at 2.00 p.m. today.

The appearance is specifically related to the circumstances surrounding the US$2.5 million that has been reported as unaccounted for.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance is also scheduled to make a special statement before Parliament on a future date regarding the same incident involving the missing funds.
