Gunmen Open Fire on House in Midigama; Car Set Ablaze

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A shooting incident has been reported at a house in Yahuwatta, Midigama.

According to the Police, a group of individuals arrived at the location around 11:45 PM last night, opened fire on the residence, and subsequently set fire to a motor vehicle parked on the premises.

No injuries were reported following the attack.

The shooting was carried out using a T-56 assault rifle, police said. 

12 live rounds of ammunition and 5 empty shell casings were discovered at the scene.

The owner of the house reportedly operates a fitness center in Weligama town.

The reason behind the attack has not yet been discovered.

Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects.
