CAA to Continue Market Raids During Weekends and Festive Season

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA)announced that market raids will continue throughout the weekends and during the festive season.

The Director of Consumer Affairs Authority Samantha Karunarathne stated that 350 officers have been deployed for this purpose. 

According to CAA officers will constantly monitor the pricing of essential goods.

Consumers can report traders selling goods above the controlled prices via the CAA hotline at 1977.

The Authority noted that nearly 6,000 market raids have already been conducted since the beginning of the year.

The market raids are being conducted to ensure fair pricing and protect consumers from exploitation during periods of high-demand for goods.
