Secretary to the President Seeks Comprehensive CID Probe into Coal Imports Since 2009

COLOMBO (News 1st): Secretary to the President Nandika Sanath Kumanayake has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), requesting a comprehensive investigation into all coal import transactions carried out so far.

The request follows findings by the Auditor General , which have revealed serious irregularities in coal transactions dating back to 2009.

The complaint also takes into account multiple issues raised in Parliament and discussions held in parliamentary committees, further underscoring the need for a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.
