Two Arrested With 3kg Of “Ice” Linked To Notorious Trafficker

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two suspects have been arrested in Wellampitiya while transporting nearly three kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine, commonly known as "Ice," in a three-wheeler. The operation was carried out by officers of the Police Special Task Force following a targeted raid in the area.

The arrested individuals, aged 58 and 48, are residents of Mahawatta in Colombo 14 and Maligawatta in Colombo 10. Initial investigations have confirmed that the suspects were acting as couriers for a larger distribution network.

Further inquiries have revealed that the duo is closely linked to the drug trafficking operations of "Mahawatte Chamara," a notorious organized criminal and drug trafficker. Police are conducting additional investigations to trace the origin of the seized narcotics.
