Drugs Worth Rs. 204.5 Million Seized at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Customs authorities at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake have arrested a suspect in possession of narcotics valued at over Rs. 204.5 Million. 

The 41-year-old resident of Negombo was caught during a search at the cargo inspection yard of the air cargo import terminal. 

The narcotics were concealed in a box brought from Singapore.

In a separate case, a 32-year-old businessman from Panadura was also arrested for illegally importing foreign-made cigarettes worth Rs. 330,000.
