COLOMBO (News 1st): Two individuals have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport with a consignment of "Kush" cannabis valued at approximately Rs. 100 million.
The arrest was made during a raid conducted by the Department of Customs.
It is reported that the suspects purchased the narcotics in Bangkok, Thailand, and arrived at Katunayake Airport via New Delhi, India.
The stock of Kush was discovered hidden inside four pieces of luggage belonging to the suspects.
Steps have been taken to hand over the suspects and the seized narcotics to the officers of the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) at Bandaranaike International Airport for further investigation.
