COLOMBO (News 1st); Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Sanjeewa Dharmaratne has been appointed to serve as the Acting Inspector General of Police, Sri Lanka Police confirmed.
The appointment has been made due to Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya, being on an overseas visit.
During this period, Senior DIG Dharmaratne will carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Inspector General of Police.
