ADB President Meets Sri Lanka Central Bank Governor

COLOMBO (News 1st); Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), met with Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), during his three-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

The discussion focused on current economic developments in the country, ongoing reform efforts, and policy-related matters concerning the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress made and exchange views on key economic priorities and institutional reforms.

The high-level discussion was attended by several senior officials, including Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment and Deputy Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development; Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Treasury; Duminda Hulangamuwa, Senior Economic Advisor to the President; Mahinda Siriwardena, Alternate Executive Director of the ADB; Shannon Cowlin, Country Director of the ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission; and Keiichiro Inui, Chief Advisor to the President of the ADB.
