Applications Open for 2026 GCE A/Level Exam

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Examinations has commenced accepting applications for the 2026 General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level examination from today.

The department said applications will be accepted through the online system until April 24. 

All candidates are required to submit their applications by accessing the official websites www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic and following the instructions provided.

According to the Department of Examinations, students from government schools and government-approved private schools must submit their applications through their respective school principals. 

Private candidates are required to submit applications independently using their National Identity Card numbers.

School principals have been instructed to submit applications using the usernames and passwords issued to them for this purpose.

The department emphasized that after submitting applications, candidates must obtain a printed copy and keep it safely, as it is an essential document.

The Department of Examinations also stressed that the deadline for accepting applications will not be extended and urged candidates to ensure that applications are submitted on or before the closing date.
