COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Energy has announced the reimplementation of the National Fuel Pass system using QR codes, effective from 6.00 a.m. on March 15, in response to supply disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and a sharp rise in domestic fuel demand.

For those still registered under the previous Fuel Pass with unchanged vehicle ownership and mobile numbers, accessing your QR code is straightforward. Visit the official portal at https://fuelpass.gov.lk/ to download instantly.

But if you've switched vehicle ownership, updated your mobile number, or own a newly registered ride from the Department of Motor Traffic (RMV), action starts at 6:00 a.m. today, March 15. Head to the same website for quick online re-registration. First-timers without prior enrollment must also register afresh through the portal.
