COLOMBO (News 1st): Two Indian nationals have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake with a large stock of narcotics.
Officials from the Drug Control Unit apprehended the suspects, who are aged between 26 and 37 years, upon their arrival in Sri Lanka from Thailand.
A search of one passenger led to the discovery of 1,525 grams of Kush, valued at approximately Rs. 15.25 million and 182 grams of hashish worth around Rs. 18.2 million.
The second passenger was found in possession of 1,513 grams of Kush, valued at nearly Rs. 15.13 million.
The narcotics had been concealed inside the suspects’ hand luggage.
Following initial inquiries, both suspects and the seized narcotics were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
