COLOMBO (News 1st); Iran’s Foreign Affairs Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of committing an “atrocity at sea” in connection with the attack on the frigate Iris Dena.
Araghchi said the incident occurred 2,000 miles from Iran’s shores, and claimed the vessel, described as a guest of India’s Navy, was carrying almost 130 sailors when it was struck without warning in international waters.
In his statement, the Iranian Foreign Minister issued a stern warning to the United States, saying: “Mark my words: The U.S. will come to bitterly regret precedent it has set.”
