Red Alerts Extended: Residents in Landslide-Prone Districts Urged to Evacuate

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has extended Level 3 "Red" Alert or Evacuation Notices for several Divisional Secretariat divisions across the central and hill country districts due to the persistent risk of landslides.

Residents in the Ududumbara, Ganga Ihala Korale, Doluwa, and Yatinuwara in the Kandy District, Yatiyantota, Mawanella, Aranayaka, and Dehiowita in the Kegalle District, Laggala, Pallegama, Ambanganga Korale, Ukuwela, Wilgamuwa, and Rattota in the Matale District and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat division are advised to remain extremely vigilant on risk of potential landslides and follow evacuation protocols.
