EU and Sri Lanka to Convene 27th Joint Commission Meeting Today, Key Strategic Dialogue Expected

The 27th session of the EU-Sri Lanka Joint Commission will take place in Colombo today. 

The high level meeting will review and strengthen bilateral relations across several areas including governance, human rights, trade, development co-operation, regional priorities and other strategic sectors.

The joint commission is co-chaired by Ms. Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka and representing the EU delegation Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Acting Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific of the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The visiting EU delegation will also hold discussions with senior dignitaries regarding steps to improve collaborative approaches and concrete next steps to strengthen the ongoing partnership.
