Drug Bust in Wellawatte: Close Associate of Large Scale Drug Trafficker 'Tharanga' Arrested

COLOMBO (News1st): A suspect has been arrested with 1kg and 9g of Ice narcotics or Crystal Methamphetamine during a raid conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) in Wellawatte.

According to the STF, the suspect is a close associate of Ellegoda Maddumage Dinesh Tharanga, alias "Tharanga," a large-scale drug trafficker who is currently in remand custody.

In addition to the narcotics, the STF seized Rs. 150,000 in cash, A three-wheeler and A mobile phone.

The Special Task Force further stated that based on interrogations of the primary suspect, another individual has been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.
