Suspect Arrested with Foreign-Manufactured Firearm in Uswetakeiyawa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A 24-year-old resident of Uswetakeiyawa in Pamunugama was arrested with a firearm manufactured abroad.

Police stated officers from the Homicides and Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) apprehended the suspect, based on a tip-off. 

The firearm had its foreign-made serial number erased and was accompanied by two rounds of ammunition.

The CCIB has launched investigations into the incident.
