Another Massive Drug Bust in the Sourthern Seas

COLOMBO (News1st): Two fishing vessels seized with a massive haul of narcotics in the southern seas were brought to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour a short while ago.

The vessels were intercepted last evening following a search operation conducted at two locations in the Southern sea, based on intelligence provided by the Police. 

Authorities seized approximately 270kg of 'Ice' or Crystal Methamphetamine and Heroin, along with 11 fishermen during the raid.

Five people were onboard one vessel while six were onboard the other. 

Navy Media Spokesperson, Commander Buddhika Sampath says that an assessment to determine the exact quantity and value of the seized narcotics is underway.
