Prime Minister Returns After Talks at World Economic Forum

COLOMBO (News 1st); Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who participated in the World Economic Forum, returned to the island today (23).

The Prime Minister undertook a four-day official visit to Switzerland to attend the 2026 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, held in the city of Davos.

During the forum, which took place from January 19 to January 22, the Prime Minister met extensively with a number of world leaders, heads of international financial institutions, and leading global business figures, holding in-depth discussions on strengthening Sri Lanka’s future economic trajectory.

A high-level delegation, including Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha, accompanied the Prime Minister on this official visit.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Division, this successful diplomatic mission enabled Sri Lanka to open a new chapter in international cooperation in support of the country’s future development agenda.
