COLOMBO (News 1st);l; Sri Lanka’s biggest cinematic sequel has just kicked off its international journey with a blazing start.
Mega Live Events has launched the Dharma Yuddhaya 2 marketing campaign in Australia, already securing an impressive 1,000 advanced bookings and lining up 47 screenings across four major cinema chains — a resounding early win for the film’s overseas rollout.
But the Australian surge is only the beginning.
In a landmark announcement, Sirasa TV revealed a historic international distribution partnership with the International Movie Distributors Network (IMDN), bringing Dharma Yuddhaya 2 to global screens under a single, unified theatrical distribution agreement — the first such deal in Sri Lankan cinema history.
Under this consolidated distribution framework, Dharma Yuddhaya 2 will be released across:
Australia
New Zealand
Japan
South Korea
Italy
United Kingdom
United States
Canada
These regions collectively host approximately 1.2 million Sri Lankans, giving the film an unprecedented global diaspora reach.
Positioned as a large-scale cinematic production with broad international appeal, Dharma Yuddhaya 2 is seen as the ideal title to usher in this new global strategy.
