80-Year-Old Woman Killed in Brutal Attack

COLOMBO (News 1st); A woman has died, and another has sustained injuries following an assault with a sharp weapon in Thittagalla, Ahangama.

Police stated that, acting on received information, officers from the Ahangama Police visited a residence, where they discovered two women with serious injuries.

The injured women were subsequently admitted to the Gonngahaheena Hospital by police officers.

The suspect taken into custody is a resident of Thittagalla, Ahangama.

The deceased has been identified as an 80‑year‑old woman.
