Two Women Arrested for Operating Fradulent Foreign Recruitment Scheme

COLOMBO (News1st): Two women were arrested in Boralesgamuwa for operating a fradulent foreign recruitment scheme using the official seals of government officers.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment says that the suspects operated an institution under the guise of a Japanese language training center. They had posted advertisements on Facebook promising driving jobs in Japan.

During a search raid, authorities discovered a variety of forged official seals, including those belonging to Principals of government schools, Divisional Secretariats, A Commissioner of the Department of Inland Revenue, University lecturers and Various private educational institutions.

Furthermore, the SLBFE reported that falsified G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) and Advanced Level (A/L) certificates have also been taken into custody. 

Officials also seized two registers containing 100 student record files which are documents strictly issued only to school principals by the Ministry of Education.
