Schools to Reopen Jan 21 as First Phase Ends; A/L Exams to Begin at 2,086 Centers

COLOMBO (News 1st); The first phase of the first school term for government and government-approved private schools ends today.

The second phase of the first term is scheduled to commence on the 21st of this month.

Meanwhile, the Advanced Level (A/L) examination subjects that were postponed due to the disaster situation will be held from the 12th to the 20th at 2,086 examination centers island-wide.

The Department of Examinations says that students who lost their National Identity Cards (NIC) due to the disaster can sit for the exam using a temporary identity document. 

For school candidates, this must be certified by the School Principal, and for private candidates, it must be certified by the Divisional Secretary.
